Tree trimming leads to downtown neighbor dispute

A Niagara Falls man accused his neighbors of running an illegal parking lot in a dispute Saturday morning that started over tree trimming.

The complainant called police around 11 a.m. to report that his neighbor was on his Buffalo Avenue property, trimming tree limbs that hung over the adjoining property. When police arrived, the complainant also said the neighbors ran an "illegal parking lot" for the past two summers.

Police spoke to the neighbors, who denied going onto the complainant's property, but admitted trimming limbs from their own property. The two parties were advised to have a professional survey to determine legal property lines before any further trimming was done.

There was no mention of the parking dispute in the police report on the incident.
