You thought Saturday was hot?
The heat's just getting cranked up.
"The whole week is going to be pretty hot and humid," said Aaron Reynolds, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Buffalo. "Sunday and Monday are probably going to be our hottest days."
The temperature made its way into the mid-80s by late Saturday afternoon at Buffalo-Niagara International Airport, while the high could reach the low 90s on Sunday. Monday will kick it up a notch, with high temperatures of anywhere from 94 to 100 degrees, depending where you are in the region, Reynolds said.
"That's anywhere from Rochester west," he said.
Chances of showers and thunderstorms increase by midweek, but it's going to remain hot and humid until the weekend, when the forecast shows cooler temperatures in the high 70s.
