Student pleads guilty in threat on social media against Hutch-Tech

A 17-year-old student who placed a threat against Hutchinson-Central Technical High School on social media pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree aggravated harassment in Buffalo City Court, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.

The charge is a class A misdemeanor.

On June 1, Buffalo Police were called to Hutch-Tech, which resulted in a lockdown while the threat made via social media was investigated, the District Attorney's Office said. Police determined the student responsible had created a fake Facebook account and posted the message, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Buffalo City Court Judge Amy C. Martoche issued an order of protection for an official at the school.

The case has been transferred to Mental Health Treatment Court, before Buffalo City Court Judge Robert T. Russell.
