Lewiston man, 19, charged with rape after encounter with 13-year-old

A 19-year-old from Lewiston was charged with second-degree rape earlier this week following an allegation he had a sexual encounter with a 13-year-old in March, the State Police said.

Gerald M. Lauzau Jr., was arrested Tuesday by troopers who received a complaint on June 6 about an incident at the Royal Park Apartments on Porter Road in the Town of Niagara, police said.

Lauzau was arraigned in Niagara Town Court and remanded to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 bond, troopers said.
