Two Bisons voted as starters to Triple-A All-Star Game

Bisons catcher Danny Jansen and third baseman Jason Leblebijian have been named starters for the International League in the Triple-A All-Star Game on July 11 in Columbus, Ohio.

Leblebijian is the third Bisons player in the modern era to be named to an all-star team in consecutive seasons, the team said. The others are Buffalo Baseball Hall of Famers: pitcher Dorn Taylor (1989-1990) and outfielder/designated hitter Ernie Young (2004-2005).

Jansen will be making his first Triple-A All-Star appearance after being named a Florida State League (Class A) and Eastern League (Class AA) All-Star last season before being called up to the Bisons.

Jansen, who led all IL catchers in fan voting, tops the Bisons in hitting at .299, runs at 17, extra-base hits at 23 and RBI with 39. He also has the second-best on-base percentage in the league at .413. He is ranked as the No. 6 prospect in the Blue Jays organization by MLB.com.

Leblebijian, 27, leads the Bisons with 10 home runs ā€” tied for sixth in the league ā€” and is hitting .254 with 35 RBIs. He led fan voting among IL third basemen.
