It's time to brush up on your "Hamilton" lyrics as fans of the Broadway smash will have the chance to sing along with their favorite songs from the award-winning musical during a special event at Curtain Up!
"Hamiltunes: An American Singalong" is a community karaoke where audience members are encouraged to sing along from their seats with some individuals and groups getting the opportunity to sing on stage. It takes place at 8 p.m. Sept. 14 in Shea's 710 Theatre (710 Main St.) during the 37 annual Curtain Up! event which celebrates the start of the Buffalo theater season. Costumes are encouraged.
Tickets are $17.76 and are on sale now in Shea's ticket office (650 Main St.) and via ticketmaster.com. All ticket holders will be contacted closer to the event to sign up for song selection. Summer box office hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
There will be prizes and special guests to be announced. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s "Hamilton" will be on stage from Nov. 20 to Dec. 9 in Shea's Buffalo Theatre. For information, visit sheas.org.
