Grand Island man in Buffalo to buy marijuana, heroin gets shot at in robbery

A Grand Island man was robbed Tuesday afternoon in Buffalo by two gunmen, one of whom fired multiple shots at him, according to a police report.

The victim told police he was attacked by two men carrying handguns just before 1 p.m. in the area of Main Street and Vernon Place, near Fillmore Avenue. He told officers the suspects followed him out of a mini-mart and one fired two or three shots when he refused to give them his money, according to the report.

The victim, who told police he was in the area to visit a methadone clinic and to buy some marijuana and heroin, suffered scratches and cuts to his right hand and both legs while he was on the ground fighting with the attackers.

The gunmen left the area in a black vehicle, according to the report.
