Amazon Prime members get new perks at Amherst Whole Foods

Amazon Prime members will have access to special prices and discounts at the Whole Foods store in Amherst starting Wednesday, now that a piloted program has rolled out nationwide.

Starting Wednesday, Amazon Prime members will get 10 percent off sale items with yellow tags and will get members-only specials on items marked with blue tags. Members will also get free, two-hour delivery if delivery becomes available at the Amherst store.

To redeem the discounts, members at the register can enter a phone number that is linked to their Prime account, or use the Whole Foods app at checkout.

Members-only deals beginning Wednesday will include baby back pork ribs for $4.99 per pound (regularly $9.99 per pound) and organic yellow peaches for $1.99 per pound (regularly $3.99 per pound).

Amazon Prime members pay $119 per year and receive free two-day shipping on eligible orders from Amazon.com, as well as free movie and music streaming services.
