Tonawanda man charged with aggravated DWI after flipping car in Riverside

A Town of Tonawanda man who flipped his car Sunday night in a collision with oncoming vehicle in Buffalo's Riverside neighborhood has been charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, according to a Buffalo police report.

Michael J. Jackson, 37, was arrested at about 10:20 p.m. near Esser Avenue and Newfield Street after his Toyota rolled onto its roof. Jackson, who was uninjured, failed field sobriety tests at the scene.  While in police custody, he registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.24 percent, three times the legal limit, according to the report.

Police found an open beer can inside his vehicle, which also struck a parked car. In addition to aggravated DWI, Jackson was also charged with DWI and drinking alcohol in a vehicle on a highway.
