A man’s body was found Tuesday morning in the Buffalo River, a day after two men drowned in the Niagara River near Broderick Park, police said.
The body was found near South Park bridge. The Erie County Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy to determine the man’s cause of death, a Buffalo police spokesman said.
The spokesman said it appeared the body had been in the water “for a period of time.”
Buffalo police responded to the scene at about 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The body was reportedly spotted by workers on a barge in the river. The city’s Underwater Rescue and Recovery Team was called to the scene, police said.
The man's identity has not been determined.
