The married "Risky Builders," Chris and Lorissa Naugle, have a hit on their hands.
At least in Western New York.
A spokesperson for HGTV, which carried the pilot of the program from the Buffalo-area house flippers, said the cable station won't be issuing any national ratings for Sunday's episode. She added no additional episodes have been scheduled at his time.
The half-hour pilot, which featured the renovation of a Clarence Center home, had a strong 3.3 live local rating, which is unusually high for a Sunday afternoon program here on cable or broadcast television. It kept the same rating for each 15-minute segment.
"Risky Builders," which was heavily-publicized by the media here, won its time slot. To put the local rating in even more perspective, many prime time programs on broadcast television fail to get a rating that high here.
The Naugles own FlipOut Academy at Eastern Hills Mall, along with local artist Blair Rusin of Art by Blair, and rehab and re-sell homes in the Buffalo market. They all live in Williamsville.
The show's title refers to the risk investing in the Buffalo market.
