JIMERSON, Douglas L. "Butch"

JIMERSON - Douglas L. "Butch"
June 22, 2018 at Buffalo General Hospital of the Cattaraugus Indian Territory at the age of 74 years. He was born on October 22, 1943 at Tri-county Hospital, Gowanda, NY; beloved son of the late Eli L. and Lois (Lay/Doctor) Jimerson; dear brother of Eli L. Jimerson Jr., Robert (Julie) Jimerson, Leatha (William Denny) Jimerson and Lambert (Debra) Jimerson; loving father to Ian and Douglas (Butchie) Jimerson and Wynona Powless; survived by grandsons Worthy and Kaz Jimerson and Andrew Skye; nephew of Ethel (Peggy) Bray and Kate John. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Butch was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Iroquois Post # 1587. He was also a life-long member of the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation Volunteer Fire Department. He was a retired member of Roofers Local 74. Butch was a former football coach for the Seneca Sachems. Butch was an employee of the Seneca Nation of Indians and member of Native Elders Club. He was a member of the Four Corners Methodist Church on the Cattaraugus Territory. A member of the Class of 1963 at Gowanda Central School, Butch was an outstanding athlete during his high school years; playing football, basketball and baseball. In his later years, he was an avid golfer. Friends may call Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the WENTLAND FUNERAL HOME, 10634 Main St. (Rt 62), North Collins, NY where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 AM.
