Stamm-Philipps has been endorsed by the town Republican Party.

Democratic attorney Charles J. Naughton previously announced his candidacy. David M. Heim, who was appointed justice in March, is not running.

Stamm-Philipps, an attorney for more than 20 years, is a former Wheatfield town prosecutor who has handled a wide range of traffic and criminal cases. She also instructs frequently at continuing education classes for lawyers.

"I want to make sure our community has peace of mind when it comes to the justice system. As an attorney and a mother of two, fairness is an essential pillar of my foundation," Stamm-Philipps said.
