Two men who tied up and strangled a homeowner during a Hamburg home invasion were sentenced to prison, Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn said Thursday.
On Aug. 19, 2017, the two men wore masks and unlawfully entered a home on Schultz Road in the town and left with a television, jewelry, cellphones and food.
Cedric Townes, 31, of Buffalo, was sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to 10 years in prison. His co-defendant, 23-year-old Vlado Mihallofski of Lackawanna, was sentenced to 3½ years in prison.
Townes pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery. He also pleaded guilty to attempted burglary in an unrelated matter in Buffalo. Mihallofski pleaded guilty to attempted robbery.
Flynn commended the investigative work of Detective Scott Fraser of the Town of Hamburg Police Department.
