Things to do in Western New York: June 12

Steven Tyler & the Loving Mary Band

6:30 to 10 p.m. at Artpark Tuesdays in the Park (450 S. 4th St., Lewiston). Cost is $17 and tickets may be purchased here.

The Aerosmith front-man is a bonafide rock 'n' roll icon, but he also loves other forms of American roots music, and in Nashville's Lovng Mary Band, he's found some real ringers.

Expect plenty of mildly countrified Aerosmith classics, as well as tunes from Tyler's recent solo album. Fun fact: Opening act the Sisterhood Band is fronted by Ruby Stewart, daughter of another rock icon, Rod Stewart. - Jeff Miers

Buffalo Reading Invasion

7 to 8 p.m. at Bidwell Park at Elmwood Avenue and Bidwell Parkway. Free to attend.

An un-intimidating gang of readers is coming to take over a neighborhood near you. The Buffalo Reading Invasion, perhaps the quietest communal event on the summer calendar, returns this year to the green space east of Bidwell's intersection of Elmwood.

Nothing much happens during a reading invasion, founder Geoff Schutte explains. "It's just a time to come together, to enjoy the act of reading, and to remind our fellow Buffalonians that reading is an essential element in many of our lives." - Colin Dabkowski

Food Truck Tuesday

4:30 to 8 p.m. in Larkin Square (745 Seneca St.). Free to attend.

Although Larkin Square's Food Truck Tuesday is a weekly event, this mention gives us an opportunity to trumpet Gusto's Food Truck Guide, which you can explore below.
