Box truck's roof sheared by Tonawanda railroad bridge

A box truck driver failed to clear a railroad bridge in the City of Tonawanda on Monday morning, shearing the truck's roof, according to police.

The crash happened at about 10:45 a.m. on East Niagara Street. The truck, which was empty, was registered to Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara Falls.

The driver, identified as Trevon L. Smith Jr., 21, of Niagara Falls, was issued three tickets, police said.
