Educators to discuss 'What Works' on Wednesday in free public program

The League of Women Voters of Buffalo Niagara is presenting a panel discussion on "Perspectives on What Works in Public Education" from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site, 641 Delaware Ave.

The public is encouraged to attend the free program, which will include panelists Sherry M. Cleary, executive director of the New York Early Childhood Professional Development Institute; David Mauricio, chief of alignment and innovation, Buffalo Public Schools; John Starkey, principal of Lafayette International High School; and Wendy Paterson, dean of the School of Education at SUNY Buffalo State. A question and answer period will follow and refreshments will be served.

Parking is free in the lot behind the TR Site off Franklin Street, between Allen and North Streets. Reservations are requested; sign up at the League website,, or call the League office at 716-986-4898.
