The all-volunteer organization B Team Buffalo will lead the charge to “Send Hunger Packing” this week, with people joining together to assemble hundreds of packages of trail mix and personal care items for Hearts for the Homeless, a local mobile soup kitchen.
The fifth annual Send Hunger Packing will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Amvets the Medallion Post 13, 25 Review Place, just north of Hertel Avenue and Tonawanda Street. In last year’s Send Hunger Packing event, nearly 30 volunteers assembled more than 400 packages for the Matt Urban Hope Center. Prior events from 2014 through 2016 benefited the Friends of Night People, Code Blue Mission Relief and Harbor House.
