Falls woman's bank account drained of more than $1,500

A woman contacted Niagara Falls police recently after discovering that someone had drained more than $1,500 from her bank account since April 9.

The 71-year-old victim, a Pierce Avenue resident, told police that she did not know how anyone accessed her account, since her bank card was still in her possession. She learned that three withdrawals were made from her account on April 9, in the amounts of $300, $400 and $400, at a location at 10th Street and Pine Avenue.

Additional unauthorized withdrawals were made on April 23, one for $200 in the 2300 block of Pine Avenue, and another for $202.50 at a location within the City Market area. Police are investigating.
