Yo La Tengo will make its much-awaited return to town at 7 p.m. Sept. 13 in Asbury Hall at Babeville (341 Delaware Ave.).
The dreamy, eternally consistent three-piece from Hoboken, N.J., will be back on the road in support of the languid "There's a Riot Going On," the 15th submission to the group's nearly flawless 30-plus year catalog.
The band's September gig will be its first Buffalo visit since playing at Shea's Performing Arts Center in 2006. Presented by Hallwalls, the special event saw the trio perform its instrumental album "The Sounds of Science" live to the films of French filmmaker Jean Painlevé.
Tickets are $26 in advance and will go on sale at 10 a.m. May 18 through the venue's ticket office, Tickets.com or charge by phone at 877-987-6487.
