Buffalo Ride of Silence

Gather at 6 p.m., ride begins at 7 in Delaware Park near the police radio tower. Free to participate.

The Ride of Silence is an annual international bicycle ride to help alert motorists to the dangers they pose to cyclists; according to Ride of Silence organizers, 818 cyclists died and roughly 45,000 were injured in crashes in 2015. The 8-mile silent ride through Buffalo begins in Delaware Park. Lights and helmets are mandatory.

Riders who know someone who's been injured or killed in a cycling accident are encouraged to wear black armbands, while those who've experienced injury personally are asked to don red armbands. There will be a limited number of armbands available at the ride.

7:30 p.m. in Dipson Eastern Hills (4545 Transit Road, Clarence). Tickets are $7.
