Test results for HIV and hepatitis C will be available in 20 minutes at a new "express clinic" in the Niagara County Sexual Health Center, the county Health Department announced Tuesday.
The center is the county's rebranded former sexually transmitted disease clinic in the Trott Access Center, 1001 11th St., Niagara Falls.
Every Wednesday starting May 23, the express clinic will be open from 9 a.m. to noon for clients without symptoms who want to be checked. Full-service testing will continue to be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. The clinic offers connections to care for those who test positive for HIV or hepatitis C.
The Health Department announced the clinic soon will offer Truvada, a pill that prevents HIV 95 percent of the time if taken properly.
