A motorcyclist was killed late Monday night when he was struck head-on by an SUV that crossed the center line, Niagara County Sheriff's officials said.
He was identified as Bradley Chawgo, 23, of Lockport, sheriff's officials confirmed.
The crash occurred just after 11 p.m. in front of 4637 Saunders Settlement Road in the Town of Cambria.
Deputies dispatched to the scene found a Chevrolet Traverse, a midsize SUV, and a Honda motorcycle in a ditch.
Investigators said they believe the Chevrolet, driven by Ajjada Amos, 19, of Niagara Falls was westbound when it crossed the center line into the eastbound lane, striking the motorcycle.
Chawgo was ejected and came to rest in the ditch, officials said. The motorcycle became lodged under the SUV which dragged it about 100 feet through the ditch before becoming dislodged when the SUV hit a culvert. The motorcycle then caught fire, officials said. A passerby put out the fire.
Chawgo was pronounced dead at the scene and Amos was taken to Mount St. Mary's Hospital for evaluation but officials said she was not injured.
The sheriff's accident investigation unit is continuing to probe the crash.
