If the Country Megaticket wasn't enough to satiate the Buffalo area's fans of the genre, then perhaps this announcement for early fall will rouse excitement for the coming concert slate.
Kid Rock and Brantley Gilbert will drop by Darien Lake Amphitheater at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 28 on the Red-Blooded Rock 'N' Roll Redneck Extravaganza. Tickets, ranging from $39.50 to $129.50, go on sale at 10 a.m. May 18 through LiveNation.com, Ticketmaster.com or by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
Kid Rock's "Bawitdaba" days are far in his rearview mirror; the Michigan native has embraced his softer side, shifting almost completely to country over the last decade and more recently showing off on the golf course. His last area visit, in summer 2015 at Darien Lake, was a joint effort with Foreigner.
Gilbert, who's yet to earn to a Grammy nomination, has nevertheless topped the Billboard Country charts with each of his last two albums, "Just as I Am" in 2014 and "The Devil Don't Sleep" in 2017. The Georgia native was the subject of a feature in The Tennessean, which juxtaposed the musician's on-stage demeanor with his life away from the mic.
