Tellez has a solid game in Bisons loss to Lehigh Valley

Lehigh Valley scored in the bottom of the ninth to walk off with a 6-5 win over the Buffalo Bisons at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, Pa., in the first of the Herd’s seven-game road trip.

A sacrifice fly to right field by Dean Anna scored pinch runner Roman Quinn from third base for the walk-off win.

Tellez singled on a sharp line drive to right field in the third inning to score Devon Travis from second base. Then Tellez belted his first home run of the season, a two-run shot in the fifth inning that tied the game, 5-5.

The Bisons had a chance in the ninth as Darnell Sweeney had a one-out double and moved to third on a ground out by Danny Jansen. Tellez drew a walk to put runners on the corners but Leblebijian lined out to second baseman to end the threat.

Point of interest: The home run by Tellez was just the second homer in May for the Bisons after the club hit 14 in April.
