WNY Driver of The Week: Scott Wylie

Driver: Scott Wylie.

Age: 34.

Hometown: Hamburg.

Division: ROC Modifieds/Holland Modifieds.

Lowdown: Wylie will campaign both a ROC Asphalt Modified this season for the Booker Motorsports/Bill Putney partnered team as well as a Sportsman-type car for owner Paul Graff. Wylie also is a partner in 716 Speed Shop. Wylie is the grandson of the late local driver Ron "Pops" Wylie, the son of seven time Holland NASCAR Late Model champion Rick Wylie and former Perry Speedway champion Karen (Ingleman) Wylie. Scott is the brother of Super Stock racer Jake Wylie.

Accomplishments: Wylie started racing at 16 in the now defunct Cup Lite Series for Graff. Wylie is the all-time Cup Lite Series winner with 52 triumphs and four championships in his Cup Lite career that spanned from 2002-2009. He then raced both Late Models and E-Mods at Lake Erie Speedway, winning an E-Mod title there with owner Frank Graham in 2014. In the last few seasons Wylie has opened a race car design, construction and parts business in Orchard Park. Since 2015 he has raced Late Models in Canada, as well as Modifieds and Sportsman mostly in Western New York. He has won in his own designed Late Models and was crew chief for NASCAR Canadian Late Model champion Taylor Holdaway. Wylie emerged victorious in the prestigious George Decker Memorial Sportsman event last season at Holland.

Hobbies: Wylie enjoys playing basketball as well as being involved in various sports with wife Kathy and daughters Kaylyn,  9, and Paige, 7.
