AHL makes changes to divisions for 2018-19 season

The American Hockey League has announced its divisions for the 2018-19 season with the addition of the Colorado Eagles as the league's 31st team.

The Eagles, an affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, will play in the Pacific Division.

The Rochester Americans, the AHL affiliate of the Sabres, are only slightly impacted as the Cleveland Monsters (Columbus) will move from the Central Division to make up the eight-team North Division. The Amerks remain in the North along with Belleville, Binghamton, Laval, Syracuse, Toronto and Utica.

The only other changes are that San Antonio and Texas are moving from the Pacific Division to the Central Division.
