Three Western New York congregations will open their doors to the community Saturday and Sunday for Sacred Sites Open House Weekend, organized by the New York Landmarks Conservancy.
With the theme “Sacred Sounds and Settings,” congregations will showcase musical activities along with offering building tours.
Among the churches to be open: First Baptist Church of Niagara Falls, 554 Main Street, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday noon to 3 p.m.; Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 317 Leroy Ave., Buffalo, Saturday 2 to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday noon to 3 p.m.; and Kenmore United Methodist Church, 32 Landers Road, Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Conservancy’s Sacred Sites program provides grants and hands-on technical assistance for the repair and restoration of historic religious buildings. Since 1986, Sacred Sites has provided 1,389 grants, totaling $9.9 million to 760 institutions.
