Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, 5300 Military Road, Lewiston, will host a free Vascular Health Screening from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to qualified participants.
This is the third year Mount St. Mary’s and Catholic Health have teamed up to sponsor this screening program. The screening includes tests for; carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms and peripheral artery disease, along with checks for blood pressure, cholesterol, body mass index (BMI) and pulse oximetry.
Screenings are open to men and women over the age of 50 who smoke or have one or more of the following medical conditions: high blood pressure, diabetes, heart/leg ailments, family history of heart disease or prior stroke. Participants must meet eligibility requirements and appointments are required, by calling 447-6205.
Those with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or a family history of stroke or vascular illness, may be at increased risk for vascular disease.
