Cross Border Blues attract U.S., Canadian music fans, alike

Participating organizations of Cross Border Blues events recently came together in a collaborative effort at FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines, Ont., to cross-promote events on both sides of the border.

Organizers use the Blues to build bridges across cultures, generations and geographies.

Cross Border Blues participants include: Tim Horton's Southside Shuffle in Port Credit, Ontario, Canal Bank Shuffle in Thorold, Ontario,  FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario, the Buffalo/Niagara Blues Festival in Buffalo, and Blue Mondays in Lewiston. These events collectively draw more than 150,000 people annually.

Sponsorship from the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission helps to promote all of these events by partially funding collaborative marketing initiatives on both sides of the border. For more information, contact Eva Nicklas at 754-0166, or Bob Liddycoat in Ontario at 905-246-3615.
