Men invited to strap on some heels to show support for women

Men, you're invited to strap on a pair of high heels and "walk a mile in her shoes" as part of Crisis Services' annual men's march against rape, sexual assault and gender violence.

The march is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. at the University at Buffalo South Campus at Harriman Hall. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.

"We all have a role to play in preventing sexual violence. By modeling respect and empathy for one another we can build a safer and healthier community with zero tolerance for violence," organizers said.

State Sen. Timothy Kennedy, State Police Campus Sexual Assault Victims Unit Senior Investigator Thomas Gibbons and Erie County District Attorney John Flynn are scheduled to speak at the event.

The registration fee is $5. Parking available in the Diefendorf and Sherman Lots. For more information, go to crisisservices.org.
