Police: Man faces charges after alleged dispute with woman as she was driving

A Falconer man faces seven charges following an alleged domestic dispute with a woman in her car as she was driving Tuesday outside the Prendergast Library on Cherry Street, Jamestown Police reported Wednesday.

Joel E. Acevedo, 24, was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail without bail following arraignment on three counts of second-degree reckless endangerment, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and single counts of third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal tampering.

Jamestown Police said Acevedo allegedly damaged the car’s windshield, threw a cupful of hot coffee across the dashboard and attempted to take the woman’s cellphone after she and Acevedo picked up two girls at the Jamestown YMCA about 8:30 p.m. Police said this allegedly caused the woman to swerve in traffic, risking an injury accident.
