State Police: Body of man found in Cattaraugus County identified

State Police have released the identity of one of two deceased male bodies found over the weekend in separate Southern Tier locations, according to State Police.

A body found off Swanson Hill Road in the Cattaraugus County Town of Randolph has been identified as Wilfredo Rodriguez-Colon, 48, of Busti, State Police said.

State Police said they made the identification with assistance from the Erie County Medical Examiner's Office.

Residents found the body and advised law enforcement at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday, State Police said.

Another body found in the Town of Portland, southwest of Dunkirk, is scheduled for an autopsy to determine the identity and cause of death, State Police said.

An investigation is ongoing, State Police said.
