David M. Brown of North Tonawanda, who inflicted several broken bones on his sons during separate beatings last year, was sentenced Monday to 2 2/3 to eight years in prison.
"When you pick on the most vulnerable members of our society, you should go to state prison for it," Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III told Brown, 25, of Oliver Street.
Brown, whose statement to North Tonawanda police was read aloud in court, said he fractured his 3-year-old son's orbital bone.
"I smacked him in the forehead. He was being bad," Brown told police.
His 10-month-old son suffered a broken arm and leg when Brown said he picked the child up roughly. He also elbowed the child in the head, but Brown said that was an accident.
