Empty, half-empty cognac bottles pulled from car of DWI suspect

Niagara Falls police said they recovered an empty Hennessy cognac bottle and another half-empty bottle from the car of a man arrested Sunday morning following a crash on Buffalo Avenue.

Officers responded to the 8400 block of Buffalo Avenue at 1:20 a.m. to find a heavily damaged vehicle that had jumped the curb and struck a tree. They said that the dazed driver asked them what happened.

After recovering the liquor bottles from the vehicle and administering some field sobriety tests, police charged Michael J. Lograsso, 23, of Oliver Street, North Tonawanda, with driving while intoxicated, driving while impaired and failure to use a designated lane. They said that Lograsso refused to submit to a Breathalyzer test after his arrest.
