'Phantom' cast to perform concert for local HIV/AIDS services

The national touring company of "The Phantom of the Opera," in town for a 160show run at Shea's Buffalo Theatre, is joining with Alleyway Theatre for a benefit concert on April 30 to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and as part of the fundraising efforts of the WNED/WBFO Artie Awards to benefit ECMC’s HIV/AIDS and Immunodeficiency Services.

"Phantom Unmasked" feature casts members singing songs from their favorite 1990s Broadway musicals, including "The Scarlet Pimpernel," "Jekyll & Hyde" and "The Lion King." Alleyway is donating the venue and manpower for the event and partner with Broadway Cares.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7:30 event at Alleyway Theatre, 1 Curtain Up Alley. A minimum donation of $20 is requested. For more information, call 716-852-2600.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s "The Phantom of the Opera" returns to Shea’s April 25 and runs through May 6.
