South Union 'road diet' to be detailed at info session Monday

A proposed "road diet" for South Union Road in the Town of Amherst and Village of Williamsville will be the subject of a public information session Monday night.

The state Department of Transportation has proposed reducing the roadway's four travel lanes down to one lane in the northbound and southbound directions with a two-way center turn lane and shoulder. The project includes the portion of South Union from Wehrle Drive north to Main Street.

The information session begins at 7:30 p.m. during a regular meeting of the Village Board in Village Hall, 5565 Main St. Town officials will be on hand to explain the proposed re-striping plan.
