Speyer tapped by Cheektowaga Democrats for town justice

Cheektowaga Democrats unanimously endorsed Asst. Police Chief James J. Speyer Jr. for the town justice seat currently held by Dennis Gorski.

Speyer's 35 years of law enforcement experience was a determining factor in the endorsement, said Matt Janiszewski, Cheektowaga Democratic Party chairman.

“Jim’s decades of experience in law enforcement will give him a unique perspective as judge, allowing him to be firm but fair in his decision-making, while also being able to make common-sense judgments.”

There are two elected town justices in Cheektowaga. Current Town Justice Dennis Gorski’s term expires at the end of 2018, and he is not seeking re-election to a four-year term.
