A section of the Niagara County water system will be shut down Tuesday morning due to the planned installation of a new valve on the transmission main, according to county Water District officials.
Affected area include: Royalton, Ridgeway, Somerset, Hartland, Lockport, Newfane, Shelby, Barker, Middleport and Medina.
Officials state this maintenance may affect water pressure, and, once water pressure is restored, the water may appear cloudy due to air entrapment. While this is harmless, once water pressure has been fully restored, all affected customers are asked to flush all water taps in their homes or businesses for a minimum of five minutes or until the water runs clear.
Questions may be directed to Ronald Gwozdek, county principal engineer, at 439-7452.
