Petitions are due by 5 p.m. today for candidates seeking one of three seats on the Williamsville Board of Education.
The three incumbents – Shawn Lemay, Toni Vazquez and Mark Mecca – are all seeking re-election. Eric Borenstein and Robert Campo have also filed petitions. Ballot positions will be drawn at 6 p.m. Tuesday prior to a special meeting when the board will vote on the Erie 1 BOCES budget.
Candidates must obtain at least 68 valid signatures, representing 2 percent of last year’s total vote count. Necessary forms are available online at www.williamsvillek12.org/boardcandidate or may be picked up at the district office, 105 Casey Road, East Amherst, during regular business hours.
The election will be held May 15 in Williamsville North High School gym, 1595 Hopkins Road, Amherst. Winners will serve three-year terms on the nine-member board.
