Our streams need protection from upstream polluters
In response to the March 23 Buffalo News article “Watershed in Cattaraugus County among healthiest in NYS” and the March 31 editorial “Toward cleaner water” and the April 1 editorial “There’s money in that water,” it is time to focus on fracking wastwater pollution of the Allegheny River.
We have a New York State fracking ban because we want to protect our clean water. We need to also protect our rivers from places that pollute upstream. We cannot allow this to ruin our watershed for wealthy interests.
