NAACP seeking nominees for annual awards

The Buffalo NAACP is accepting nominations for its 2018 awards.

The Youth Award goes to someone 14 or older who has demonstrated significant community involvement and assistance to others. The Rufus Frasier Human Relations Award goes to an individual or organization for efforts improving human or race relations. The Daniel Acker Community Service Award goes to an individual or individuals exemplifying outstanding volunteer community involvement. The Medgar Evers Civil Rights Award goes to someone championing the rights of the underclass or making the public aware through the media.

Nominations (up to two pages) must be submitted to the NAACP Awards Committee,  395 E. Ferry St., Buffalo, NY 14208 or faxed to 884-7243 by May 4. Contact information for the nominator and nominee must be included.

Awards will be presented at the NAACP Medgar Evers Award Dinner June 9 in  the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.
