CBW's quartet of new beers

Rutherford B. Haze (5.1 percent ABV), a Belgian-style pale wheat ale is CBW's non-winter seasonal beer, and is already back in anticipation of warmer months (if they happen).

Power Ballad (8.5 percent ABV) double IPA (India pale ale) was brewed in collaboration with Big Ditch. Brewed with Centennial, Citra and Hallertau Blanc hops, the beer will be released at noon on April 14 on draft and in limited quantity of 750-milliliter crowlers.

Combined Grind (7 percent ABV) is a collaboration with Swiftwater Brewing Company out of Rochester. It uses coffees from Joe Bean and Tipico Coffee, blended with an IPA that features New York-grown malt, Denali and Cascade hops. The beer will be released at noon April 14 on draft and in a limited number of four-pack 16-ounce cans.

Highly Suspicious (6.5 percent ABV) is an IPA that was brewed in collaboration with Prison City (Auburn) and uses Citra, El Dorado and Galaxy hops, Saccharomyces Trois yeast and grilled pineapple. Five & 20 weaves in some fruit

Five & 20 Spirits & Brewing (8398 W. Main St., Westfield) has released its latest beer, Grape Lakes American Wheat. The 5.3 percent ABV (alcohol by volume) wheat beer is brewed to be light in color, with a small addition of Concord grape juice.

Aromas of berries and grape balance with wheat malt, providing a crisp effervescent finish. The beer is available now in bottles, but the brewery will also celebrate its release on April 27 with a Barrel Room Jam from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event will feature live music from Abby and Pat Doyle of Gem City Revival, as well as food from Bird, the brewery’s in-house kitchen.

Gem City Revival will perform at Five & 20's Barrel Room Jam on April 27.

The event is free. Grape Lakes American Wheat will be sold in bottles (12 ounces for $2.50 or a six-pack for $11) as well as on draft (32-ounce growler for $7, 64 ounces for $12). Call 793-9463.
