Parents and adults who want to learn how to find out what their children are doing on social media are invited to attend a forum April 19 in the Schiller Park Community Center, 2057 Genesee St.
The event, sponsored by the nonprofit No More Tears, is open to the public and runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Featured speakers will include Buffalo Police Deputy Commissioner Kimberly L. Beaty and state Sen. Timothy Kennedy.
The purpose of the forum, entitled "Eyes Wide Shut: The Dangers of Social Media," is to educate parents on what to look for in terms of their children's social media activity in order to help keep them safe, said Tina Sanders, who runs No More Tears.
Parents will learn how to check on who their children might be communicating with on various types of social media, Sanders said.
