Niagara Falls pedestrian dies after being hit by pickup

A woman struck on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Niagara Falls Saturday night died of her injuries Monday, police said today.

Linda A. Anello, 65, was struck by the driver of a pickup at about 8:40 p.m. Saturday on the boulevard between Tuscarora Road and 89th Street, according to Niagara Falls police.

Anello, of St. John's Parkway, was being treated for head trauma at Erie County Medical Center. She was hit by the driver of a pickup heading west on the boulevard, police said. She was in the northernmost lane of the road, according to investigators.

The driver of the pickup, identified only as a 62-year-old Niagara Falls man, has been cooperative with police in the ongoing investigation. He was driving a 2016 Toyota Tundra, police said.
