The Bills are hosting Miami defensive tackle RJ McIntosh on a pre-draft visit this week, according to Jared Tokarz of TheNFLDraftInsider.com. He has been projected as anywhere from a second-round pick to a fifth-rounder.
McIntosh checked in at 6-4 1/2 and 286 pounds with a 6-10 wingspan at the Scouting Combine, but did not take part in on-field drills. Reports indicated doctors at the combine found a thyroid problem. He has since been put on medication and appeared slimmer at his Pro Day.
McIntosh recorded 52 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks as a junior for the Hurricanes. As a sophomore, he had 47 tackles, 9.5 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
He can play tackle in the 4-3 scheme as a pure three-technique, but also could play as an end in a 3-4. His versatility makes him attractive to a number of teams.
