Colden man charged with DWI after rear-ending county plow

A Colden man faces a driving while intoxicated charge after the Erie County Sheriff's Office said he rear-ended a county plow Sunday morning in Boston.

Kevin Steinmetz, 36, struck the back of the plow about 5:05 a.m. on Cole Road, the Sheriff's Office said.

Steinmetz failed several field sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of 0.08 percent, though the Sheriff's Office withheld the precise BAC reading.

Steinmetz was charged with two counts of DWI, following too closely and speeding and was released to a sober third party, the Sheriff's Office said.
