We can’t expect teachers to be experts with guns
I’ve seen the letter writers proclaiming that the only way to be safe is for every teacher to have a gun. I have a question for them.
Chris Kyle, the “American sniper,” a man who was as gun adept as you could possibly be, and his friend were shot and killed, holding guns, by a man at a Texas gun range! So my question is: How many millions more in school taxes are you willing to spend training teachers to be better than Kyle?
In Parkland, Fla., 17 people were killed in seven minutes. The biggest problem with the AR-15 and guns like it is that by the time a “good guy with a gun” (whether cop or citizen) knows there is a problem, it’s too late.
