[BN] Blitz newsletter: The 'other guys' in this year's quarterback class

We're pretty sure the Bills are going to select a quarterback in the draft. We're less sure who he will be. The [BN] Blitz Path to the Passer series has profiled each of the top six quarterback prospects over the last few weeks: USC's Sam Darnold | UCLA's Josh Rosen | Wyoming's Josh Allen | Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield | Louisville's Lamar Jackson | Oklahoma State's Mason Rudolph

But what if the Bills fill other holes with their two first-round picks and look to land a quarterback another day? Vic Carucci introduces the "other guys" — a sampling of which includes Mike White, Luke Falk, Kyle Lauletta, Riley Ferguson, Kurt Benkert and Tanner Lee — who could be targeted in the later rounds.

Finding a franchise QB is difficult: Even if the Bills select a quarterback higher than they ever have before, draft position won't necessarily make him the next Jim Kelly. That's what Nick Veronica found when he took a look at the 10 drafts since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger that featured either four quarterbacks selected in the first round or at least five quarterbacks selected within the first two rounds.

Pre-draft visits: LSU cornerback Jared Tokarz, a former teammate of the Bills' first-round pick a year ago, Tre'Davious White, has reportedly scheduled a top 30 visit with Buffalo. He joins Ohio State cornerback Denzel Ward. On the quarterback front, Mason Rudolph is visiting this weekend and Baker Mayfield will visit later in the week.

Bulls WR on Bills' radar: University at Buffalo receiver Kamathi Holsey has been getting mentions from fans, friends and followers following the news that he will have a private workout with the Bills in mid-April. Watch his highlight video here. Bishop Timon-St. Jude graduate and UB defensive end Demone Harris worked out for the Seahawks on Thursday.

Vic Carucci's mailbag: Can the Bills have a successful draft without landing one of the top quarterbacks?

Mark Gaughan's analysis: With the retirement of Eric Wood, repeating offensive line continuity will be a challenge for the Bills next season.

All-time centers: See where Wood ranks on Gaughan's list of the best in Bills history.

Spending ledger: The Bills rank 11th in the NFL in total value of contracts handed out so far this offseason.
