Armed thieves get expensive jewelry in two East Side robberies

Two East Side men reported being robbed near Delavan and Bailey avenues of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry in separate incidents over the weekend.

According to Buffalo police reports, one man was robbed by three men at East Delavan and Roebling avenues Saturday. One displayed a .22-caliber handgun and hit the victim over the head, after which he was assaulted by all three suspects, according to the report. He was robbed of two earrings, one ring and a necklace, items he valued at nearly $2,500. The suspects fled in a black Chevy Equinox.

Another man told police that around 3:41 a.m. Sunday, one man robbed him at gunpoint Langmeyer and Olympic avenues. Taken were a gold chain, diamond necklace, watch and diamond ring that were together worth about $20,000, according to the police report.
